EXPLORING MY HERITAGE BLOG
Almost everyone in America can tie their family history back to a different country. Have you ever wondered where your family came from, and why? Through this project, you will find answers to those questions, as well as learning more about the culture your family brought with them to America.
Now that you have completed your "About Me" page for your blog, it's time to widen your audience with a blog about your heritage and culture.
You will accomplish a variety of tasks through this project assignment. You generate a family tree. Then you will research the cultures and traditions of your family history. You will interview a family member to learn more about your heritage and customs. You will use the gathered information in your blog.
1- You will start this project with the creation of your family tree. You may download the form by clicking “here”. To help you create this tree, you will need the help of your parent, your aunt/uncle, or your grandparent.
2- Then you'll watch the videos to the right to learn about Heritage and Culture.
3- Next, you will select a family member to interview for your project. Some one you can ask those questions you'll write in step 4.
4- You need to watch the video interview of immigrants’ kids via this Scholastic Web Site. From the video you watched, create several interview questions for your subject.
5- Design your questions and your information collection base on how you want to present it in the writing of your blog article. Remember think about what information you want to write about then create questions geared toward gathering those information.
6- Next You will write a rough draft of your blog on a piece of paper. Using the information you gather from the interview and your own personal knowledge about your family background, write 3-5 paragraph in a third person narrative format about the heritage and family background of the person you interviewed.
